Role Summary

A Pearson Freelance Primary Trainer delivers training on our products to primary school practitioners. This includes full day, half day and online professional development courses in schools across the country, using the materials produced by Pearson Professional Development. All Pearson Primary Trainers receive full training and mentoring to be able to deliver our courses to a high standard. 

We are currently looking to recruit trainers to deliver courses linked to the following Primary services:

Abacus (Maths)

Wordsmith (English)

Successmaker (Maths & English assessment and tuition)

Computing

Rapid (Special Needs)

Science Bug

Bug Club

We are looking for trainers across the UK, particularly applicants based in one of the following regions:

North East (Northumberland, Durham, Tyne and Wear)

North and South Wales

East Anglia  

South East England

London and the Home Counties

 

Selection and training: 

Applicants will be required to complete a video interview after submitting their application (see guidance attached). 

Shortlisted candidates will then be required to attend a face to face interview. 

Successful applicants will be required to attend a ‘Train the Trainer’ events for the courses they are prepared to deliver.

You will also be required to carry out a co-delivery day within 6 weeks of attending 'Train the Trainer' event.   

Responsibilities:

Preparation

Liaise directly with the customer prior to an event to confirm the training details.
Attend in-house training sessions provided by Pearson to develop an in-depth understanding of our courses and materials.
Attend training sessions to develop technical skills necessary to deliver online events.
Practice with resources to be fully confident and competent in their use.
You will be required to shadow an experienced trainer to build confidence and competence.
You will have full course observations by an experienced trainer for quality assurance. 

Delivery

Ensure that all objectives are met within the training session.
Present information in a way that is suited to the customer and environment.
Answer all customer queries.
Promote Pearson products and other training events.
Ensure your personal laptop/PC is suitable for delivering online training.
Manage own time and travel arrangements.

Feedback

Handle customer queries or complaints in a professional manner.
Complete and submit a summary feedback form for every session delivered.
Training session feedback should be consistently good or outstanding.

Additional information and requirements

Please be aware that your travel distance to deliver training could be as long as two hours or more and that you should use the most efficient and appropriate form of transport available to your.
You may be required to do an observation day (unpaid) within 4 weeks of attending Train the Trainer.
You will be required to available on all school key dates during the year (ie. INSET dates at the start and end of half terms).
You will be required to be available for a minimum of 10 bookings per term. 
You will be required to inform the Training team of your availability for the term ahead.
