Our Examiners undertake a vital role in education, shaping the future of thousands of students.

An Examiner marks candidate scripts.  Most subjects will be marked on screen using ePEN, which can be done from home.  A few subjects are still marked in the traditional method, using paper scripts sent through the post. As a teaching professional, you already possess high levels of commitment and dedication. We will complement that with comprehensive training, and support you throughout the assessment process, whether you are marking traditionally or online.

Being an examiner can inspire fresh ideas and new approaches to practising your subject and will give you valuable insight into national standards.

The marking period takes place between May and July, and examiners can expect to earn between £650 and £1000 per allocation.

Experience needed

• You will have teaching, lecturing or assessment experience in the relevant subject and level and/or hold a masters degree or a phd and/or relevant occupational experience
• You will have a degree or equivalent.
• You will be a qualified or qualifying teacher.

Competencies required

• You will have the ability to work well under pressure.
• You will have the ability to meet deadlines.
