Examiner - GCE - GENERAL STUDIES

Reference:GCE/GEN/EX

Our Examiners undertake a vital role in education, shaping the future of thousands of students.

An Examiner marks candidate scripts.  Most subjects will be marked on screen using ePEN, which can be done from home.  A few subjects are still marked in the traditional method, using paper scripts sent through the post. As a teaching professional, you already possess high levels of commitment and dedication. We will complement that with comprehensive training, and support you throughout the assessment process, whether you are marking traditionally or online.

Being an examiner can inspire fresh ideas and new approaches to teaching your subject and will give you valuable insight into national standards. In short, it will help enhance your teaching skills.

As an examiner for General Studies it is not essential for you to be directly involved in the teaching of the subject, as it draws on ideas and knowledge from a wide range of disciplines. You will have an interest in the interactions between culture, science and society and you will encourage students to debate, to enquire and to test and challenge assumptions about the contemporary world.

The marking period is between May - July.

The training required to mark as an examiner will take place between May and June.
