Pearson Primary Freelance Trainers 

Role Summary: 

Pearson is looking for freelance educational trainers and consultants with extensive primary classroom teaching experience in maths and/or English. Trainers are required to deliver face-to-face courses to individual schools, or clusters of schools, using the materials produced by the Pearson Professional Development team. These materials include online resources, so confidence in using and showing software is essential.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • You are a Primary School Teacher with a minimum of 3 years teaching experience at primary level and/or you have a proven track record of working with primary schools and teachers in the UK as a consultant, trainer or adviser.
  • You hold a degree.
  • You are a fully qualified teacher.
  • You have experience of delivering effective whole school training to colleagues in your school or other schools.
  • Be ICT literate and confident using a variety of ICT packages to support classroom pedagogy and practice.
  • You have a full, clean driving licence with business insurance. 
  • DBS check

Although every effort is made to ensure training is localised to your home area, occasional travel and overnight stays maybe required (Reasonable expenses are paid).

Freelance trainers can expect to earn £250 for a full day training event and £200 for a half-day (3 hour) event.

Role Summary

Pearson is looking for freelance educational trainers and consultants with extensive primary classroom teaching experience in maths and/or English. Candidates who can offer experience with systematic synthetic phonics will also be of interest. Trainers are required to deliver online and face-to-face courses (once Covid restrictions permit) to individual schools, or clusters of schools, using the materials produced by the Pearson Professional Development team. These materials include online resources, so confidence in using and showing software is essential.

Responsibilities:

Preparation

· Attending training sessions to develop an in-depth understanding of Pearson PD materials

· Participation in ongoing training including shadowing and observing training sessions

· Liaising with the Training from Pearson team to confirm availability for school-based training courses

· Practising with resources and online delivery platforms to be fully confident and competent in their use (own computer needed for this)

· Necessary pre-course delivery preparation required to ensure all courses are delivered to a high standard and to the satisfaction of the customer

Delivery

· Managing your own time and travel arrangements

· Ensuring that all objectives are met within the training session

· Presenting information in a way that is suited to the customer and environment

· Answering customer queries

· Promoting Pearson products and other training events

Feedback

· Sharing customer feedback with the PD team

· Reflecting on your own delivery to promote best practice

· Handling any customer queries or complaints in a professional manner and sharing these with the PD team in a timely manner

Please Note: QA will be carried out through observation by a member of the PD team, and through feedback forms.
