A Chair of Assessors maintains standards within a subject across different specifications from year to year. The Chair will take responsibility for standards across all levels within a line of learning, ensuring that the levels do not overlap.

Key Accountabilities 
To be responsible to Pearson for maintaining standards in a subject or group of subjects across different syllabi and methods of assessment, and from year to year.

Responsibilities
To chair the Question Paper Evaluation Committee (QPEC) meeting(s).
To ensure the question paper(s), mark schemes and Authorised Assignment Briefs meet the requirements of the assessment criteria as set out in the specification.
To chair the Awarding meeting for each externally assessed unit in the designated subject or subject area, checking that the required standards are brought to bear in each external assessment component and in each subject as a whole.
To recommend mark boundaries for each grade at the conclusion of the Awarding process.
To participate in training as required.
To monitor the standards of the Senior Examining Standards Verifiers
To work closely with the Qualification Delivery and Award Manager in carrying out all designated responsibilities. All recommendations arising from these responsibilities must be made to the QDAM.
To submit an overall evaluation report on the internal and external assessment for the qualification every year.
To review and act on any report about the qualification, e.g. level of demand.

Experience/qualifications needed
You will be educated to an appropriate level within the relevant subject area
You will have significant assessment experience in the relevant qualification
You will have an appropriate amount of experience of teaching the relevant subject and level
You will have experience of managing people.
