Reference:VQLTbart2017 Closing date:17 July 2017 at midnight Lead Trainer - BTEC Art & Design Pearson is recruiting a Lead Trainer for Art & Design to help support the quality assurance of their vocational training programmes. This is an exciting opportunity that will help to drive improvements and consistency in Pearson’s growing professional development services. About the role As a Lead Trainer you will lead on the quality assurance of training delivery in one key sector area; furthermore you will play an essential role in supporting the quality assurance process of training across other sectors and products in order to help promote consistency in standards across Pearson’s vocational training programme as well as developing a much more holistic trainer role. In addition to the supportive element of the role you will additionally carry out observations of training events in line with our performance management strategy. You will act as a point of contact for a team of trainers you will line manage throughout the year, providing feedback on performance, highlighting best practice and opportunities for improvement as well as helping to build a smaller network of sector specific trainers. As a Lead Trainer you will be required to work collaboratively with key Pearson contacts in order to keep up to date on any internal changes impacting the delivery of training, and demonstrate a high level of understanding of the education sector and developments in your key qualification and subject area in order to provide guidance to your team of trainers. Furthermore, as a Lead Trainer you will be expected to work with the Professional Development Specialist, other Lead Trainers and your allocated team of trainers, encouraging networking and shared communication to develop your own role and that of your trainers. This will be through team meetings networking, offering advice, support and guidance on a regular basis through a wide number of mediums available to the Lead Trainer and trainers such as google hangout, emails, telephone calls, newsletters, cascading information from the wider business. There is no formal commitment set but the expectations for the role would be as follows:-
Experience required We are looking for applicants who have excellent effective communication skills and are able to demonstrate they have a strong background in delivering training, and be able to demonstrate current experience of delivering and/or assessing BTEC courses. It would also be beneficial to have some expertise in other aspects of professional development such as Functional skills, WBL, Apprenticeships and Level 1. Additionally you will have previous line management experience and have the ability to monitor, advice and support a group of trainers to deliver the training events to the highest quality through mentoring and coaching. You ideally will be currently delivering training on behalf of Pearson
Further information We are intending to hold an Assessment Day on the following dates: 8th, 9th or 11th August. Could you please hold these dates in your diary until you hear further from us. If you already know you will not be able to attend at this time, due to prior commitments, could you please include this information, with your application. Assessment days will take place between, you will be required to attend one of these days. Following appointment you will invited to attend an induction day, followed by a team meeting. This is expected to take place on the 12th or 15th September, and therefore request if you could also hold these dates in your diary for now.
