Purpose

To review centres  for the purpose of Quality Management Review (QMR), reporting on effectiveness and supporting centres in maintaining quality processes and systems for BTEC qualifications accredited to the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF), National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) from Level 1-7. Quality Management Review activity takes place between October and April each academic year, please take this into consideration if you wish to apply for this post.

 

Responsibilities

  • Carry out a range of Desktop Reviews (DTR) for the purpose of QMR

  • Visit a range of centres for the purpose of QMR if required

  • Review the quality of provision within centres by measuring systems and processes against predetermined quality objectives and measures

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of quality systems and processes

  • Develop centre actions and recommendations to help centres with remedial action to improve internal quality procedures

  • Support the centre through focused development to assist with the achievement of identified and agreed actions

  • Produce a qualitative report for each QMR allocation

  • Report back to Pearson within agreed service-level agreements

  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the work of Centre Management in relation to this role



Experience/qualifications needed

  • Experience as a BTEC programme manager or middle manager with experience of quality operations and  management in an education/training setting

  • Experience of delivering and assessing BTEC qualifications

  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in the field of quality operations

  • A sound knowledge of quality issues arising from quality operations

  • Expertise in the analysis of quality operations

  • Educated to a degree level


Competencies required

  • Excellent communication, written, verbal, IT and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to make judgements on quality of systems and processes

  • Ability to support centres with relevant advice

  • Ability to work to deadlines

  • Ability to understand the implications of decisions taken on Pearson’s behalf


Training Requirements

 

Please note if your are successful with your application you will be required to attend an On-line session for new CQRs on Thursday 7 June from 16:00 to 18:00, and a further full day face to face training event in June/July  in order to be allocated centres for QMR.
