We are currently recruiting PGCE History students to work as Examiners for our GCSE History qualification.

 

Pearson recently redeveloped the GCSE History specification and have seen a huge increase in centres choosing our qualification for the upcoming examination period.

   

We are now accepting applications from PGCE students who have a History degree and who are currently studying for their PGCE (History) to become Examiners with Pearson. This is a great opportunity to understand assessment specifications and what Examiners use when they are assessing Learners’ work. You will have direct access to experienced examiners and Principal Examiners.

 

 

Experience Required

 

  • You must hold a History related degree
  • You must be currently studying for a History related PGCE.

 

Competencies Required

 

  • You will have the ability to meet deadlines
  • You will have a high level of subject knowledge in order to apply the mark scheme

 

Information on the marking 

 

Examiners will be marking the British Depth Study section of Paper 2 from unit 1HIO only. If you are offered a contract you will be marking either B1 & B2 or B3 & B4 depending on the preference you select in your application.  


Medieval Options:

 

B1: Anglo-Saxons and Norman England, c1060 - 88

and

B2: The reigns of King Richard l and King John, 1189 - 1216.

 

Tudor:

 

B3: Henry VIII and his ministers, 1509 - 40

and

B4: Early Elizabethan England, 1558 - 88. 

 


Location, Pay and Time Commitment 

 

The marking will be completed in a Pearson location and you will be working in either London or Manchester depending on your preference.

 

The dates are from 19th June until the 14th July and we can be flexible about which days you would attend.  Expenses, including travel and accommodation will be covered and you will receive a daily rate of £130. You will receive training from our senior team to ensure that you adhere to the quality of marking that is required.
