Introduction

Pearson Edexcel is developing new qualifications in International Computing for Year 6 and year 9 learners. These qualifications provide a progression route that lead to the International GCSE in Computer Science or the International GCSE in Information Technology.

The role

Currently we are seeking teachers who have recent experience of teaching computing/information technology to Year 6  and year 9 learners to help us develop the Year 6 and year 9 qualifications. The role includes developing content for the Year 6 or year 9 specification and producing a sample question paper together with the marking scheme for that paper. The person appointed would be engaged under contract to do the work at home.

Experience

Minimum two years’ experience of teaching computing/I.T. to Year 6 or year 9 learners.

Experience of marking exams or tests would be an advantage.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a relevant teaching qualification.

·         Write three questions (including mark scheme) aimed at year 6 students to assess their knowledge and understanding of computer science/information technology. For the year9 role: 

·         Detail your experience of teaching IT/ Computing to year 9 learners.
