Reference:DDSMEQDUPS Closing date:31 March 2021 at midday Pearson is recruiting a Digital Developments Subject Matter Expert for Qualification Development - BTEC Nationals - Uniformed Protective Services An external Subject Matter Expert provides up-to-date sector or subject specific expertise that feeds into the development of the digital product. The Subject Matter Expert must have current sector/subject knowledge and/or experience relevant to the product in question. SMEs working on Pearson’s digital products are involved in all stages of the development process, from the scoping and design phase, throughout the development to the reviewing at the end. ROLE SUMMARY: An external Subject Matter Expert provides up-to-date sector or subject specific expertise that feeds into the development of the given qualification(s). The Subject Matter Expert must have current sector/subject knowledge and/or experience relevant to the qualification(s) in question. ESSENTIAL: · Current sector experience/applied subject knowledge with at least two years experience · Good communication skills including high standard of written English and IT skills · Teamworking skills: the ability to work collaboratively and to give and receive constructive feedback in a positive, supportive way · Basic working knowledge of a variety of digital media (eg software, digital images, social media, websites) · Ability to accurately follow a brief and meet deadlines · Flexibility to adapt to changing guidelines and attend training as required · Experience of teaching/ delivery OR writing of educational resources OR assessment. DESIRABLE: · Educated to a level 4 standard (HNC/1st year degree) or above with relevant qualifications for the particular sector/subject area, or substantial vocational experience (at least 3 years) · Knowledge and experience of teaching/ delivery, writing of educational resources and assessment. · Significant experience of working with digital media. RESPONSIBILITIES/TYPICAL TASKS: · Contributing to the scoping and design of digital products including approaches to content, formative and summative assessment · Commenting on the appropriateness of sector/subject content within the product modules · Writing and reviewing content or learning/ assessment activities for modules within the product TYPICAL WORK HOURS: Typically 3-5 days’ work when on a project. Work required may differ for certain projects.
