Apprenticeships Trainer Role within Workforce Skills

The Trainer will play an important role in supporting the quality of delivery across a range of new training programmes across Apprenticeships, either for Standards where Pearson are the EPAO or with general training which could support all Apprenticeship.
The role of the Trainer will be to deliver online training focusing on colleges and private training providers across a range of products and/or subject areas as required.

Working with the relevant training team within Pearson, the trainer will be expected to:
- Deliver high quality training sessions which utilise existing training materials, showcase wider support that is available and are based on personal or relatable experience of delivering competency-based qualifications.

- Highlight best practice and opportunities for improvement to those who either attend or view our training sessions.

- Work collaboratively with key Pearson contacts in order to keep up to date on key messages and any internal changes impacting the delivery of training.
- Demonstrate a high level of understanding of the work-based learning sector and developments in Apprenticeships sector.

Key accountabilities
- Delivery live or pre-recorded training sessions as agreed with the training team. Review, prepare for, and deliver training sessions using training materials developed and signed off by the training team.

- Identify opportunities for improvement in individual training delivery and make recommendations based on delivery of an event and delegate feedback.
- Where requested, participate in ‘run throughs’ prior to any event delivery.
- Complete relevant and mandatory CPD over the trainer year which will include occupational or industry experience and also ensure up to date knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements placed on our training offer (supported by the training team).

Experience and qualifications required

Essential

- You will have current or recent experience in delivering and/or assessing Apprenticeships  (or worked in teaching/training in the last three years).
- You will have current or up to date (within last three years) of occupational or industry competence.
- You will have strong qualifications and subject / or product knowledge.
- You will have experience and a strong background of developing and delivering training materials to colleagues or other professionals.
- You will be able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to your own professional development, as well as identifying and developing talent.
- You will have an understanding of effective training methodologies and tools.

Skills and qualities
- You will have strong interpersonal skills that enable you to work with people at all levels, motivate others and change people's attitudes when necessary
- You will have strong written and spoken communication skills that allow you to inform and advise others clearly
- You will have the ability to use your initiative and the ability to offer new ideas
- You will have a proven record of organisational and planning skills to manage your time and to meet deadlines and objectives
- You will be IT literate
- You will have a willingness to keep abreast of new techniques in awarding bodies training
