Pearson is recruiting a Principal Examiner for Edexcel GCSE English Literature - units 5ET1H/01 and 5ET1F/01

The Principal Examiner is responsible for producing appropriate assessment materials, including question papers and mark schemes, and for leading the standardisation of their assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Write papers post 2012 and monitor the marking from Summer 2012. This requires:
  • attending QPECs
  • redrafting & checking question papers
  • writing and refining mark schemes
  • training examining teams
  • monitoring the marking – using validity items
  • Contribute to the Awarding of the GCE Units

Experience and qualifications required

  • You will have a degree or equivalent
  • You will be a qualified teacher with an English teaching background
  • You must have knowledge of the GCSE English Literature specification
  • You will have assessment experience up to Team Leader level in the relevant qualification
  • You will have experience of managing people
