We are currently recruiting for a Chief Examiner for the following BTEC Tech Award subjects (levels 1-2):

Animal Care       Art and Design Practice      
Child Development     Construction     
Creative Media Production Digital Information Technology
Engineering    Enterprise
Health and Social Care  Music Practice
Performing Arts   Performing Arts (with a dance approach)
Performing Arts (with a production approach)  Sport
Travel and Tourism   

 

CHIEF EXAMINER

The Chief Examiner is responsible to the Chair of Examiners/PSM for ensuring that the qualification as a whole – including both internal and external assessment – meets the requirements of the specification and maintains standards from one year to the next. Chief Examiners also undertake the role of Lead Examiner for at least one component of the qualification.

 

Responsibilities:

 

· supervise the construction of question papers and mark schemes and, where appropriate, the criteria for internal assessment to ensure appropriate standards.

· to ensure that the question papers, as a whole, cover the assessment criteria as set out in the specification, and satisfactorily sample the appropriate content.

· ensure that, over a reasonable number of years, the examination as a whole will address all the specification content.

· seek to ensure parity across alternative components and options in terms of the demands made on candidates.

· monitor the standards of lead examiners and lead moderators.

· participate in the awarding process, ensuring that there is comparability in the standards of awards made via different options or tiers.

· submit, as directed by the awarding organisation, an evaluation report on the examination in that specification.


Experience and Qualifications Required

 

·         You will have assessment experience up to Team Leader level in the relevant qualification

 

·         You will have experience of teaching the relevant subject and level

 

·         You will have experience of managing people.
